Experiment with Daddy
Rob decided to bring his work home with him and show the kids a fun Physics experiment. Not really sure the specifics on how all of these different substances react, but the kids found it pretty cool. He used juice extracted from boiling cabbage, some vinegar, baking soda and calcium chloride. We basically made ice packs with the liquids. The first reaction made it warm and then adding the baking soda and cabbage juice made it ice cold. The kids didn't care about the specifics they just loved watching the bubbles form and blow up their bag. Then we talked about how it felt. Hopefully we will instill their love of learning with hands on experiments and little "home labs".
