Those crazy kids

Here are some pictures I like and why it is difficult to get a good one of all three of the kids. The last is the awesome picnic table Rob made for the kids!

Catching Up

I have some how fallen behind on my blogging. I think the flooded basement has thrown me off since that is where the computer resides. I am not down there as much anymore because the kids stay upstairs to play and me on a different level than them is dangerous! I will have to update the blog with some pictures too.
We are really enjoying the warmer weather. It has been a long, cold, wet winter. The kids love playing outside so much and I have run out of creative indoor games. Over his spring break Rob built a picnic table for the kids. It is awesome!!! They have used it already and love it since it is just their size. I think he should sell them he did such a good job. Picture to come. Last week we went to the Botanical Gardens with some friends. Even though it was a little windy Benjamin and Elizabeth had a great time in the 70 degree weather. I was so happy to see Benjamin attack the Children's garden with no fear. Things he would have been too afraid to try last year he mastered. Even Elizabeth was up for the ropes coarse stuff! He climbed the steep stairs of the treehouse, ran around the playground and walked across the swaying bridges. It is kind of nice being able to let him run free without me having to keep a constant eye on him. He is at the age where he knows where to find me and can be independent.
Elizabeth is doing well and still imitating every word of her big brother. If he doesn't like dinner and is all done, so is she. If he says come on lets go (pretend) shopping, so does she. If he says your a "----head" so does she. It is quite funny, sometimes. I love her vocabulary and how she pronounces some of her words. Benjamin kept making her say certain words the other day just to hear her say it the"wrong" way. She said, "Mommy where is your clip?" But it comes out 'where is your flip', so then we had her saying clean, clap, climb, etc. just to hear fean, fap, and fimb. So cute!! She wants to be sooo independent too and always says "no, let me do it" I just have to. She is doing quite well at the potty training thing which has been about 4 months. It is nice to have just one in diapers.
Micah, well, he is awesome. He is finally pulling up on things and now that is all he wants to do- stand holding on to anything. He will climb and crawl and move, move, move. He still has the greatest smile and loves to be entertained by Benjamin and Elizabeth. He has a cold and cough which has been pretty cruel for a week. I have to constantly wipe his nose which he despises. He has been waking up at 5:45 in the morning, which I hate, and not taking very good naps. It suprises me that he does ok on 13hrs in a 24hr period. I still think he is too young to skip to one nap.
Benjamin and Elizabeth's favorite thing to do these days is play across the street with our neighbor's grandkids. She watches them mon-thurs and the kids play at least 2 of those days. Olivia is 6 and Brynlee is 3 1/2. They take turns at each others house or just play outside. Marilyn (our neighbor) has a huge house with concrete floors and a massive indoor back porch they call the gym. The kids roller blade and ride bikes in the house! The back porch has one of those blow up bounce houses which provides so much fun! Ben always comes out sweating. So nice to have friends right across the street to play with.
Last Thursday I watched my nephew Jack for the day which was so much fun. He is 13months and walks everywhere. He is such a good boy and loves to give Micah kisses. I wish I could have watched him more his first year, but with Micah it would have been too much. I am glad I can spend some days with him now. It is crazy how fast they grow up. He and Micah will be great buddies.
Well, that sums up the past few weeks at the Weissler household.
