Is this too much mom?

I wanted to throw in some pictures. We FINALLY put this little slide/playset together which we've had here since we moved. The kids LOVE it. I love the picture of Micah with our dog Molly. An last is Elizabeth pouring some ranch dressing to dip her carrots in-hence the title of this blog!

More than meets the eye

Benjamin has almost finished his 2nd week of preschool and is doing well. I think a lot of what he does is a repeat from last year. I am glad he is at a different school, so that the teaching is new. He is the oldest in his class and the tallest. He has become the teacher's helper. I am sure he will be more than ready for Kindergarten next year. I just need to work on getting him to read. He watched part of the new Transformers movie and was more than excited when Rob found his actions figures from his childhood. Now all we here about is Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. It amazing how entertained he is by himself playing with these toys.
Elizabeth has been very whiny lately and I can't figure out why. I am constantly reminding her to talk and not cry when she is asking me to do something for here. So many simple tasks turn into a disaster for her like putting on her shoes the right way, getting something to drink, finding a toy, or figuring out what she wants for breakfast. I am working on this!
Micah has become Mr. Independant. He is a walking machine and loves to go for walks down our sidewalk. He also likes feeding himself and does pretty well with that. Unfortunately he has developed a little bit of a mean streak. He throws a good fit from time to time which we all try to ignore. The worst is his hitting/slapping in the face when you take him away from something. I have even tempted a time out with him for this. He is quite the stinker and will do something even after I sternly tell him "no" just to see what I will do next. The kids all play very well together. I am writing this now with Micah and Elizabeth playing under the computer desk and Ben playing with his transformers.
We plan on camping at the farm on Friday night and heading to the lake on Sunday. I have to work on Labor Day, so we are packing the fun in before then.

Micah goes for a walk

Micah is a walking machine now. At least barefoot he is! He tries to keep up and does pretty well. I love watching him wobble around it is soooo cute!

Elizabeth has become a fish overnight! She is quite the swimmer these days. She can now "swim" by herself with her water wings. She has also started jumping in the pool all by herself like her big brother. It is fun to watch them take risks and realize they are big enough to do it by themselves.
Rob and I celebrated our 8th anniversary on August 5th. My how time flies. We spent the day at Lake Sherwood which was very peaceful and then went to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner. It was a very nice and quiet day to ourselves!

Ellie's Photo Shoot, sort of

I had the camera out and Elizabeth and I had fun taking some cute shot of her being, well, Cutie!!

Six Flags

On Thursday Julie, Annabelle, Rob, Benjamin, and I went to Six Flags. The weather was perfect and we had lots of fun. We arrived at 10:30 when it opened and left at 9pm when it closed!!!! The picture of the kids holding their ears is when we were waiting in the noisy line to ride Evel Kinevel rollercoaster. It would fly right by us. That was an awesome ride!! We rode on the big Ferris Wheel, Thunder River, the Moon Cars (lame), the Log Flume, The Joker, Scooby Doo ride, Superman, Batman, Screamin Eagle and the Mine Train (my favorite). Ben and Annabelle were big enough for the Mine Train, a pretty tame rollercoaster, but fast too. Ben did great! Once was enough for him. Annabelle and I rode it by ourselves and sat in the first car which was amazingly fun!! Plus the kids did most of the rides in Bugs Bunny National Park. For such a long day they did fantastic. We even visited the water park Hurricane Harbor for a couple of hours. We can't wait to go back next year and take Ellie.

You can click on the collage to see it bigger. These are pitures at Lake Sherwood, Grants Farm, Tower Grove Park Wading Pool, and one of Annabelle doing her first sparkler.
