My trip with Elizabeth to Philadelphia

Elizabeth and I were in Philadelphia from Friday, June 12th to Tuesday the 16th. We had a GREAT time~!!! We stayed at my friend Katherine's house. We were roomies in college. Living far away stinks but we try to visit each other once or twice a year. Elizabeth did excellent on the airplane. She had a hard time understanding where we were going, how Katherine fit in all of this and if Katherine was the one flying the plane! Unfortunately I left our nice camera on the plane and I still have NO clue how that happened. It is lost/stolen, but that was the only bad thing that happened. We got right thru baggage check in, security and right to our gates both times.
In Philly we went to the mall on Saturday because Katherine really wanted Elizabeth to make a build-a-bear. It ended up being a build-a-kitty she named Lucy. I think she had fun with the whole process, she was just being shy/quiet. She really loved picking out the clothes, shoes, and excessories. On Sunday we headed to the Philadelphia Zoo. I was a little hesitant thinking, "how can any zoo compare to our FREE zoo in St Louis?" Besides paying to visit it was just as great and some parts better than our zoo here. It seemed really open and had tons of animals inside and out. The elephants are in a pen so we didn't have to walk a mile to see them and they were very close to us! We spent 5 hrs at the zoo then headed to the outlet malls for some good Philly shopping. Elizabeth was wiped out at this point. On Monday we went to a place called Please Touch Museum. It is a lot like the Magic House here in St Louis. Lots of hands on fun for little kiddos. Katherine told me an episode of John and Kate plus 8 was filmed at that museum! No celebrity sitings when we were there. Elizabeth had a lot of fun and enjoyed being the only kid getting two adults loving attention. Tues we headed home and had a smooth airport/airplane trip except for a 50 min delay in takeoff. We were happy to see Ben, Micah and daddy, but really could have spent a month with our favorite Aunt Katherine!!!
